Shortcut templates for easy conversations

Shortcuts give you a quick and easy way to reply to chats with template answers. This can make replying quicker and more accurate as there is less possibility of mistakes or mixed messages being sent from a team.

Having a complete set of shortcuts is a great way to ensure your chats always reflect the kind of voice and tone you want to associate with your business. Are you straight down the line professional? A little more casual? Or maybe you want to reflect a certain regional slang. Just make sure your shortcuts include the kind of language you're aiming for.

One of the services we offer at tawk.to is the Hire Live Agent add-on. If a business doesn't have the staff to answer incoming chats, we train our agents to answer chats on the business's behalf from as low as $1 an hour.

When we set up this service for a new business, the initial onboarding includes creating a full list of shortcuts to help our agents answer chats correctly and efficiently.

To start creating your Shortcuts, we start with a standard spreadsheet that we share with every business that requests the service, as seen below. We then add any Shortcuts to the spreadsheet that are specific to that business and import them all into the Dashboard as a CSV upload.

You can find the above list in this Google Sheet:  Shortcut templates

If you'd like to make some changes and personalize the list of shortcuts, select File, then Make a copy to create a new version you can edit.

Once you've made the adjustments you want or if you prefer to add the list to the dashboard as is, select File then Download and choose Comma Separated Values (.csv) and save the file.

To upload it to the Dashboard, make your way to ⚙️Administration, select Settings, then Shortcuts.

Then click the green + Add Shortcut button and select from the drop-down Import from CSV.

Select the file you downloaded and you'll be given one last option to make changes to the shortcuts in bulk. Once you're happy with them, click the green Save button in the bottom right corner.

That's it, you now added a bunch of new shortcuts in just a few clicks.
